MEET YOUR CANINE TRAINER
Katherine Wiedemeier
My name is Katherine Wiedemeier. I've been training dogs since I was an 8-year-old kid in 4-H. As I grew up, I wanted to make dog training my career.
So, after high school graduation and one year at Bible college, I traveled to The Dog Trainers College in Spencer, Indiana for their 20-week course, where I earned my Master Dog Trainer Certificate. I graduated with Honors and earned the highest grade in the school's entire history.
Promptly after graduation, I was hired on as staff at the college. I started the day as a kennel technician and became an instructor at 9 am till the end of the school day. Being immersed in the dog trainer's life meant checking in dogs for their board and train stay, managing private lessons, training numerous client dogs, and doing a wide number of other business and maintenance tasks.
Now that I’ve started Anchored Canine, my own top-notch canine training business here in central Iowa, I offer personal, tailored training for a variety of needs. I offer dog training in obedience, companionship, protection, as well as a host of other personal pet training services.
Another area that I specialize in is police dog training for narcotics detection, apprehension training, and bed bug detection. Clients can expect only the highest quality training with methods that have been proven to work in the canine field.
Also, I will be pairing dogs with owners who can benefit from the training they have already had invested in them. These canines are prepared all their lives for the valuable jobs they've been trained to do, while still being raised in a home environment with kids and family.
